Conan O’Brien Tweets Sarah Killen To Online Infamy
Michigan native Sarah Killen is the world’s newest Internet sensation — thanks to a little help from Twitter and out-of-work comic Conan O’Brien.
Sarah, who Tweets under the handle @LovelyButton, quickly became a Twitter Trending Topic and picked up thousands of followers last week after Twitter newcomer O’Brien randomly selected her to be his first friend on the popular social networking site.
“I’ve decided to follow someone at random. She likes peanut butter and gummy dinosaurs. Sarah Killen, your life is about to change,” Conan Tweeted on Friday.
Conan Tweeted about her again the next day, writing, “Sarah likes Twizzlers and craves cantaloupe. I like Raisinets, but melon feels creepy in my mouth. Twitter pals 4 eva!
”
As of Saturday afternoon, Sarah had 12,975 followers — 12,972 more than she had just two days before.
“I went on to my MySpace and there was a message asking basically if they did want to pick me, if they could, for permission. I didn’t take it seriously until I saw my name on his Twitter. And then I was like, ‘Oh, my god.’ I ran out to the work garage and started telling everybody,” Sarah told MTV News this weekend.
Conan created a frenzy when he joined the popular micro-blogging website a few weeks ago and quickly become one of the Web’s most popular Tweeters, attracting more than half a million followers.

Somebody help me,” Conan wrote on his page, later adding: “I had a show. Then I had a different show. Now I have a Twitter account.”
A firestorm followed; within the first three hours, an average of 1,000 new fans were signing up to follow Conan every minute.
Conan Fans Spoof New Jay Leno “Tonight Show” Promo [VIDEO]
Fans of ousted late-night host Conan O’Brien are hopping mad about the new “Get Back To Where I Once Belonged” promo toting Jay Leno’s return to The Tonight Show. In the ad, Hollywood’s biggest chin breezes down a winding road in one of his antique cars, smiling, in what seems to be a dig at the redhead comic affectionately known as Coco.
Team Conan promptly devised a defense to and ultimately struck back with a parody of the ad (Featured Above). Check out the original below:
Conan On Fox Not A Done Deal

Conan moving to FOX? Not so fast. Network boss Rupert Murdoch says he’s not sold on that idea that a late night variety show, featuring NBC refugee Conan O’Brien, would be a profitable investment for the network — which already hosts ratings juggernauts like American Idol and The Simpsons. The media titan told reporters Tuesday that FOX executives are divided about whether it makes financial sense to launch a late night show, TV Guide reports.
Last month, Conan ended his nearly 20 year relationship with NBC when he opted to depart his post as host The Tonight Show rather than move the franchise to a half-hour later and clear the way for Jay Leno’s return to 11:35 PM.
Tilda Swinton As Conan O’Brien?
Now here’s something we’d pay to see: Tilda Swinton says she would be thrilled to play Conan O’Brien in a TV movie about the comic’s messy departure from NBC. During Conan’s final appearance as host on The Tonight Show last Friday, the funnyman made a joke saying that if HBO were to make a movie about the late night drama at The Peacock he would “like to be played by Academy Award-winner Tilda Swinton.”

Well MovieLine.com caught up with the actress while she was promoting her new feature I Am Love at the Sundance Film Festival over the weekend, and in what will likely be music to Conan’s ears, Tilda is up for the challenge.
“I’ve heard about Conan!” Tilda squealed. “I’m so thrilled. I would just be only too happy. Yes, yes, yes, absolutely.”
Jimmy Kimmel “The Late Night War” Mockumentary
From the people who brought you “I’m F-king Ben Affleck,” comes the latest viral smash — a Ken Burns-style “documentary” on the late night battle brewing between Jay Leno and Conan O’Brien. ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel presented the new mockumentary, Late Night War, to audiences on Thursday night’s Kimmel Live.
Conan vs. Leno Battle Gets Animated
The battle between late night comics Jay Leno and Conan O’Brien is getting animated— literally. NMA News has created a cartoon version of the battle brewing at The Peacock.
In the O’Brien-Leno piece, Conan transforms into the Incredible Hulk, and Jay becomes Superman as the comedian duel for control of The Tonight Show chair. Even David Letterman and neutral Late Night host Jimmy Fallon get in on the fun.
Conan O’Brien Leaving NBC
It’s official: Comedian Conan O’Brien has inked a nearly $45 million deal to part ways with NBC after 16 years of service to the network.
After days of negoitations with Jay Leno and O’Brien, the network has announced an agreement that will allow Leno to return as host of The Tonight Show, while paying O’Brien to leave. Tom Hanks and Barry Manilow will be among the final guests when Conan signs off as host of the 60 year old TV institution this Friday, Jan. 22.

ConanOnFox.com Prompts Speculation About O’Brien’s Future
FOX has fueled speculation that it will sign exiting Tonight Show host Conan O’Brien to be its new face of late night after the network registered a domain name for the site ConanOnFox.com this week, E! News claims.
As of Tuesday, the site redirects users to a Twitter page which reads “Conan on FOX.”

FOX and its basic cable sister network have previously declared an interest in hiring the presenter for a late-night program in the wake of his recent fallout with NBC. O’Brien is reportedly brokering a deal that could pay the Boston native between $30-$40 million to leave the network and his post at The Tonight Show, allowing Jay Leno to move back to late night TV after a failed jaunt in primetime. Under Conan’s current separation agreement, he would have to wait until September before beginning another show on a competing network.
